Scallops And Blue

My favorite thing about new trends and old classics is how you may incorporate your own taste with your own closet pieces for a fresher look. My Carolina Dandy Scalloped Tote was added into my collection early June and I couldn't stop adoring it all summer. This purse comes with many colors of navy blue, brown (which is sold out currently), black and cream. I choose the cream color with a navy blue thread. It is large enough to carry many items at once and has very flexible fabric. Just a simple night on the town, I wore my favorite pair of jean from J.Crew, a navy blue Merona tank top and my gold Sam+ Libby Thong Sandals. For jewelry, I styled with a gold chained white bubbled necklace, my Kendra Scott Elsa Pendant In Ivory Pearl  and my Southern Girl Prep Pearl Tassel Bracelet.

I hope everyone has a great last couple weeks of summer. School is just a couple weeks away! Remember use my code "simplyemilyelizabeth15off" at Southern Girl Prep on your next purchase!

Touring the GH

Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink. Early in the week, my sister and I took a little day trip to Grand Haven to spend the day around the water. It really doesn’t get any better than a mini getaway within the week. I love walking downtown cities, finding adorable cafes and little shopping stores. After, my sister Ellie and I walked around the boardwalk near Lake Michigan, capturing pictures of the gorgeous boats and the lake side. The weather was perfect and just warm enough to break out this amazing crossbody purse in the color pink. Wearing a striped anchor collector T-shirt in navy along with a matching lite tan skirt. I stuck to my jewelry staples as simple as possible.

It was amazing to be near Lake Michigan and to see the gorgeous waves ripple across the sand. Anytime for a quick getaway is the best time during a busy week. Use my code: simplyemilyelizabeth15off at Southern Girl Prep!!

Grinning in Green

I follow many bloggers that have chosen these amazing ruffled shorts from J.Crew, and their adorable ensembles convinced me to get a pair! Luckily the J.Crew store in Grand Rapids had the shorts in my size, although I couldn’t decide what size to go with as both the 8 and the 10 fit. When I tried them on, both sizes fit incredibly close; either option would be have fine to wear. I chose the size 10 to give more room around the thigh area. I love the ruffles around the waistband, and the shorts’ longer inseam. What I really love about these J.Crew Ruffle Shorts is the pleated material! The fabric is just right for the shorts to sit right above the hips, making them classy, high-waisted shorts. These shorts are definitely a seasonal wardrobe must have!

These shorts are currently on final sale at J.Crew, with an extra 40% with the code THURSDAY!

Pretty in Pink

Saturday night was a fun sister bonding moment as we traveled downtown sweet Caledonia (a neighboring town) to enjoy large amounts of ice cream and wander around main street. My sister and I enjoyed our time at The Ice Cream Express where I enjoyed Cotton Candy and Ellie had Coffee. It’s nice to try new locations for photo shoots with new clothing pieces. I have been obsessing over this shift dress from J.Crew all summer. It is a very well fitting dress. One of my favorite features of this dress is how comfortable the fabric is. The detailing that goes down the middle of the dress is gorgeous! I have always wanted a fun summer dress that was casual with a bold pink color but not an overwhelmingly neon color. I paired my J.Crew dress with my Sam and Libby Tibby sandals and some of my simple gold accessories so that I was really able to embrace the dress. This is a nice shift dress for a night on the town!

I hope your summer has been as vibrant and fun as this look was!

Happy National Wear Your Lilly Day!

One of my favorite things about Lilly Pulitzer, is how I feel like it's created such a close knit community of women who all have one common love: that life is a party and we should all dress like it! With the obsessing over the recently new released Lilly Pulitzer clothing line with bright neon colors added to the older prints. I recently purchased two Tate skirts from Lilly Pulitzer, one in the pattern of Daisy Dance Allover and the other in Pink Pout Flamenco. I love the bright colors of the Daisy Dance Allover as it is a great piece for the spring and summer seasons. What gravitated my eye on this piece was the unique color of the blues and the usage of the floral as it's not the typical bright pink pattern. The skirt is not overwhelmingly neon or seem to be "too busy". I paired the skirt with a Ralph Lauren oxford white button down, my Kendra Scott and pearl necklace, and tan Merona wedges.

Although, National Wear Your Lilly Day was on Wednesday and the first day of summer you should always be a Lilly lover and always be sporting some Lilly. I hope you all have a wonderful first day of summer and are rocking some of your favorite Lilly prints.
