Birthday Wishlist: April Special

As my birthday is on April 23rd, I thought it would be a great idea to show a small wish list for my birthday. Now that I am getting older, the list becomes more reasonable items such as a new computer, student loans paid off, or some clothing items. My parents usually get me a couple of gifts of that I sometimes pick out such as a new trench coat (that I will link below) along with the other items. My top four items that I want for my birthday. Enjoy!

MacBook Air Laptop:
I have wanted a MacBook since my senior year of high school and heading into college. Since having an IPhone, I found it easier to then download pictures between both devices. Now with having a blog, editing pictures would be amazing to do it within one device and not have to constantly emailing edited pictures from email to email. I loved the editing component on the MacBook, as it was very amazing to see it be saved on the computer. Although I will miss having Office 360 on my laptop (currently have a HP) but I can definitely get use to using Google Documents. I would love to hear more opinions about thoughts on buying a MacBook.

Sperry Seaport Penny Loafer: Platinum
Lately I have been obsessing over buying more loafers as when I found that Sperry made new style of them, I knew that I need to get a pair soon. I was disappointed that our outlet store didn't have any of these loafers in store so I could try them on as to know exactly what size I am but typically I will go with my gut on the sizing. I can't wait to buy more after getting a pair. The color choices are amazing. There is Platinum, Navy, Black, Tan, Blush, Green, Grey so many options to choose from.

Striped Maritime Dress:
This dress is probably the most comfortable piece of clothing that I own. I already have this dress in a white and red striped color but I would love to have it with blue stripes. In my blog post Statement with Stripes has explained the similar dress. I can't wait to wear this during the summer and fall with riding boots and colored cardigans.

Cameron Street Lottie Cross Body
This purse from Kate Spade has amazing colors for the spring time as I fell in love with the Olive and Tusk/Black color. It's a great everyday purse that is large enough to function through daily task. I don't have any Kate Spade purses but I would love to have to add to my collection. It does come with a leather crosshatched for the cross body effect.
Every birthday is different but these are just four items that I would love for my birthday. Now that I am older, the items become more logical to our life. Hope you enjoy my birthday wish-list.

HELLO FALL

When I bought this Downtown Field Jacket from J.Crew in the summer, I was obsessing over it for months. Knowing how versatile I would be able to wear this jacket and never get tired of it. I highly recommend this product whenever it is in season at J.Crew. This product will never go out of style and will last you for years to come. I love pairing this jacket with a white oxford, navy & white striped tee (that I have styled in the photos below) or a tissue turtleneck from J.Crew. With it being waterproof makes it a bonus! Walking around downtown Hastings, I styled the jacket with a navy & cream striped boatneck tee, J.Crew toothpick jeans and gold Sam+ Libby Thong sandals. Simple accessories that were styled included a gold tassel, Pandora rings, Relic watch and a simple pearl bracelet. Walking into fall with this jacket is an essential fashion piece.

I hope the last week of September goes smoothly for everyone as the month of October strolls on in. I hope everyone has an amazing fall and hopefully this heat wave in Michigan goes away. Keep the studies up and explore as many opportunities as you can during the school year.

Touring the GH

Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink. Early in the week, my sister and I took a little day trip to Grand Haven to spend the day around the water. It really doesn’t get any better than a mini getaway within the week. I love walking downtown cities, finding adorable cafes and little shopping stores. After, my sister Ellie and I walked around the boardwalk near Lake Michigan, capturing pictures of the gorgeous boats and the lake side. The weather was perfect and just warm enough to break out this amazing crossbody purse in the color pink. Wearing a striped anchor collector T-shirt in navy along with a matching lite tan skirt. I stuck to my jewelry staples as simple as possible.

It was amazing to be near Lake Michigan and to see the gorgeous waves ripple across the sand. Anytime for a quick getaway is the best time during a busy week. Use my code: simplyemilyelizabeth15off at Southern Girl Prep!!

Bold Stripes, Bright Stars, Brave Hearts

Happy 4th of July everyone! With having family members that are in the military, there becomes a great appreciation for the sacrifice that our love ones make daily to serve our country. My fourth of July weekend was every relaxed even though I had to work on the fourth. Luckily on the third, our neighbors did their own firework show so we didn't have to travel far to see a show. Before the fireworks, my sister and I went into my hometown Hastings and shot a very patriotic holiday look. I styled a navy three-fourth sleeve shirt with double red stripes. It screamed fourth of July when I searched my closet, I bought this shirt from Target on clearance for $3.50. Paired with a white skirt that was also from Target but I bought it from Style Encore of Grand Rapids for roughly $12. For shoes, I kept them very simple with the white Sam+ Libby Tibby Whip Stitch Thong Sandals. My accessories are kept very simple with Kate Spade bangles, a pearl bracelet, and my Relic watch. The pearl necklace was actually my step great grandmother's (when she passed away) I began to style the necklace with many pieces of clothing in her remembrance.

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday!

June Favorites

Happy Monday! Finally I was able to complete more blogging as my summer college course came to an end. Since June is about over, I thought of going over my favorite products and things that hopefully you will try out and love as much as I do!
Beginning this month (from now on), I will be sharing all of my favorite products from upcoming months.

Lilly Pulitzer Agenda "Beach Loot" - I recently bought this agenda at Mason Jones: Paper Plus in Grand Rapids that carries Lilly accessories (relatively close) to me. I am very excited to begin write down dates from my soccer, work and school schedule. I'm obsessed with the navy, pink and orange colors that are mixed on the front cover.

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick: Swag - This is one of my favorite types of lipstick, it really sticks on your lips and continues to stay color throughout the day. I love the color "Swag" as it gives a great color of pink and nude. It is always my go to lipstick whenever I am doing my makeup routine.

Ked's Champion Pennant Sneakers - With baseball season continuing during the summer, these shoes are essential to make a statement in the stands. Since Joey (my boyfriend)  plays college baseball, the sneakers become a favorite of mine to walk around the diamond. They are very comfortable and stylish.

Kate Spade Jackson Street Lacey Wallet - Having a Kate Spade outlet store in Grand Rapids surely becomes dangerous when there are constant sales on wallets and handbags. I had an impulse decision to buy a new wallet but I love how spacious the wallet is that it can hold many gift cards and credit cards.

Kate Spade "Set in Stone Enamel Stone Hinged Bangle" - This bracelet is a great stackable collection for arm candy. I love the cream color with the logo of Kate Spade in gold. It's always a good time to add a little shine to your jewelry. I have the bangles in black also but I continue to wear them almost everyday.

Carolina Dandy Monogrammed Scallop Purse - I am obsessed with my newly purchased purse through this amazing company. I did my monogram in a navy blue color. It easily compliments every outfit no matter what you wear. I love that it is light and easy to carry around.
