Trendy Turtlenecks

This fall season has surely discovered new trends for the upcoming year as I have been loving on this newer trend of turtlenecks. J.Crew and J.Crew Factory have had many colors that have been out on the floor of the stores from another seasons. I have been waiting for the right moment (fall turning into winter seasons) to finally use my turtlenecks. Using simple colors really capitalize the effect about how to properly uniform the clothing pieces. I love how soft these tissue turtlenecks are, as they are on sale at J.Crew and Factory for less than twenty dollars. In this outfit, I am wearing a black ivory with white stripes tissue turtleneck with a black wool sidewalk skirt and my newest purchase from Target: Women's Bridgette Tall Riding Boots in the color of Cognac. I have been eyeing new brown boots for a while now since they would be going on sale for either Black Friday or for a winter sale. I did a lot of research on different types of riding boots that I would like to order as once I knew I didn't want to spend a lot of money but I wanted quality within these boots. These boots are on sale for thirty five dollars where Target ships for free that runs through December 23rd. My accessory is actually from the Crewcuts in the girl's section of J.Crew Factory. It's a very simple pearl necklace with a classy ribbon to tie around the neck.

 I hope everyone had an amazing Black Friday sale and prepares for Cyber Monday! I can't wait to spend the holidays with family and friends. I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.  

Summer Seersucker

At the beginning of July, Lauren James had their annual BIG SALE! I was up at one o'clock in the morning, and I was impressed by the amazing deals. I’ve always lusted after their striped Bow Shorts. They're adorable, and have hints of the classic seersucker. I read countless reviews about sizing. I ended up choosing to buy the shorts in a large for extra room around the thighs and waist. I am always nervous when buying from a company online, when I cannot physically try on the items in my cart. My risk must have paid off, because I’m in love with these shorts! They fit like a glove. The length is not too short, but not too long; a comfortable and classy mid-length. The shorts are perfect to wear while walking downtown in Grand Rapids, and staying comfortable and cute while having fun. During the summer or spring, these shorts would be essential to wear. I'm already obsessed already, and can't wait to buy more from Lauren James!

Traveling downtown Grand Rapid is always wonderful when finding hidden gems around the city.

Rocking in Red

Finally having access to power after three days of an outage. I have finally had time to sit down and blog about my red and white three quarter striped shirt from J.Crew Factory along with my linen- cotton sidewalk mini skirt in the vintage khaki color. I think that I have a slightly obsession with anything striped, so of course today I'm sharing with ya'll one of my favorite outfits that rocks the color red to wear for the holiday weekend. The contrast of the red stripes on the belt to the top gives a great statement for my addiction of stripes. My pearl necklace that I currently was wearing was my great grandmother's. When she passed, I was lucky to find such an amazing piece of jewelry to continue on her legacy. My accessories were simple and sweet, for my Relic watch and a pearl bracelet. You can definitely wear either pieces of clothing a million different ways but I opted for the traditional feel of holiday red with the vintage khaki skirt.
